Panel: Bridges, Borders, and Gatekeepers: African Cinema in the International System
As part of the @MatatuFilmStage London edition, supported by the British Council's Festival Connect Fund, we’re hosting a public conversation that sits at the heart of why this festival exists. This panel takes a closer look at how African cinema actually travels. Once a film crosses borders, what happens next? Does that exposure translate into real opportunity for the people who made it, or does it end at visibility? Let's discuss and understand the structures, the systems, the gaps, the quiet barriers, and the possibilities that are opening up.
